National Black Women's Policy Clubs
Have you ever been polled about what black women think?
Have you been included in any major media outlet’s survey about black women’s issues? It’s important to have our own conversation and compile our own data.
In February 2009, we launched a national network of policy clubs designed to keep a pulse on what is critical in our own backyards while relating it to the national landscape. We are dedicated to helping educate women on the issues, grooming leadership, and strengthening the desire to work together for our common good.
We currently have leaders in Florida, Louisiana, District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, New York, Virginia, Georgia, Washington State, and we’re growing.
POLICY CLUB PROCESS
Policy Clubs are led by Policy Club Leaders (PCL), like you, who simply invite your circle of influence to discuss and comment on various issues of concern.
• The PCL will be sent a summary of an issue to focus on for the month along with links for further research.
• The PCL will gather a group of women together to discuss, develop solutions or recommendations.
• The PCL will determine the date, time, and location for your discussion: you can meet face-to-face, by telephone, text, conference bridges, online, webcast, etc. Be creative!
• The PCL will submit a summary of your discussion and submit to: blackwomenstownhall@gmail.com
